Dako Spain receives Royal Danish Export Award
On December 10 Dako’s subsidiary in Spain, Dako Diagnósticos, was presented with the prestigious award, The Diploma of the Danish Export Association and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour in recognition of the company’s efforts in promoting Danish products abroad.
The ambassador of Denmark to Spain Lars Thuesen presented the Diploma and Medal of Honour to Mateo Iglesias, Country Manager of Dako Diagnósticos at a gala ceremony in Barcelona on 10 December.
“The committee was very impressed with Dako Diagnósticos’s results. A doubling of the turnover from 2005 to 2009 and a 70 % share of the cancer diagnostic market in Spain; these are facts that makes Dako Diagnósticos an obvious candidate for this recognition. We are therefore delighted to present this award to Mateo Iglesias and his team here today,“ said Ulrich Ritsing, President of the Danish Export Association and Deputy Chairman of the Judging Committee as he presented the award to Mateo Iglesias.
A passionate Spanish team
Recently Dako Diagnósticos marked its 15th anniversary and with much to celebrate. Having 70% of the IHC market, Dako Diagnósticos contributes significantly to setting the standards for today’s cancer diagnostics in Spain.
Mateo Iglesias has been the Country Manager since 2006 heading a passionate team that excels by being close to the customers and by showing a can-do attitude. Today, Spain is Dako’s second largest market in the world.
This year the judging committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Henrik of Denmark, chose to present the award to three Danish companies in Spain. Only twice, since the establishment of the award in 1982, has it been presented in Spain. Last time was 16 years ago.
Dako Diagnósticos was awarded together with Oticon España and Almirall (a Lundbeck distributor). The Diploma and Medal are awarded in recognition of an outstanding effort in promoting and marketing Danish products and services abroad.
